one of my favorites was burying/unburying with a value of 1. no one ever seemed to realize what was going on, and they'd just start wailing about not being able to move. or binding their buttons to kill. i found that one funny

I agree, that the increased load times aren't worth it, at least for us here. Maybe if we had more traffic that clicked ads.

And yes, we did get old...it's ridiculous!

Increased load times? It takes like a fraction of a second to load a page for me. <.<

Sure, most of the time. But there are times that adsense is slow to respond for whatever reason and it can take 10-30 seconds for a page to load, because we're waiting for adsense to load before the rest of the page.

But yeah, no one clicked ads anyway so no real point to have them.
