this may be a stupid question, but why do servers need such large hard drives? doesnt it just need to have CSS installed along with steam and maybe an amx, mani, or admin mod, and maybe some sound files or custom maps? But even so, all that doesnt take up much space at all. So why do servers have like 75 - 150 gb hard drives? thanks

You're correct. Game servers only need hard drive space for the OS, game server software, maps, configs, etc. 5 gigs would be enough. The server we're renting is a dedicated server. It's an entire box, to do whatever we want with it. Some people may run a webserver off it, hosting files. Obviously it's necessary to have a lot of hard drive space then. In our case, we're running a game server. We won't use the entire hard drive, but it'll have plenty of space if we need it. I plan on using it as a personal backup for a few choice files. (Important docs like Resume, etc. Hey, I'm paying for it, B))
