Yes, and it's much more efficient. You can talk to more than one person at a time, you can talk with them all at the same time, and you can send them hilarious pictures and links!:)

Only thing the phone has on internet is tone of voice which can sometimes mean a lot depending on the circumstances. But most of the time you can understand still.

Yeah, you can't use sarcasm without saying it in an IM program. But you can still talk to people on them using your voice! Internet owns the phone!
