I finally built my new desktop which is:

Intel Q9550 cpu
Asus P5Q Pro mainboard
6GB ram
30GB SSD2 drive for OS (which loads Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit in about 5 second)
2x500GB 32MB cache drives for data
a wank Radeon X1650 video card

Everything is running fast as hell.. Vista rating is 5.9 (the highest rating at the moment) for everything but that video card which gets a 4.9... It's also only DX9 and has 256MB on it (I got it dirt cheap).

I need to buy a new video card, what do you guys recommend? I'd like to go with Nvidia and would use it for gaming + HDTV. I won't spend more then $200 on a video card. Any recommendations?

I heard the Geforce GTX card roast the 8xxx/9xxx line. And that the 8800GT/GTS roasts 9xxx.. Any truth to that?

I know I'm not being much help, but I have to get ready for classes.
i love my 8800 gts and you can probably get two for under 200 now
the gtx 200 lines are awesome, im thinking of treating myself to one this christmas to replace my decent 8800gt.

and i was thinking along the lines of 200 doll too so i was looking at

or shell out an extra 10 bucks, but also comes with a 10 doll mail in rebate so effectively the same thing

(its factory overclocked by about 50 mhz)

both have awesome reviews and should last a while
That GTX 260 is looking pretty sweet.. Maybe I'll have to go for that. Just want something that gives me awesomeness but without costing as much as my whole desktop!

You could probably get better for a Christmas present...or ask for money and get even better for after Xmas sales.
