You can never compare a private server to the real thing. Only very few games are made to where they're as good as the real server. The only two I know of that have had sucessful private servers is Ragnarok Online and Lineage 2. RO private servers were sucessful, but nowhere as good as the real thing. L2 I guess was maybe better in ways because leveling is very hard in retail.
