ok first off i am a complete noob to gmod dedicated server.

but anyway im running a small gmod server with xmas shit. I have 2 problems

the server's ip is 96.231.132.34 i can connect to it and and so can friends but they have to type connect <ip in console> does anyone know how i fix this so my server shows up in the internet games tab?

also my downloads are slow can somebody tell how i host my downloads. I don't really know what its called.

What do you have in your server.cfg? Here's a complete one that will do fine for CS:S. You will most likely have to modify it for GMod.

As for hosting your downloads, you can use the cvar sv_downloadurl (provided in the config file). This requires having all downloads in a certain directory on a webserver. I know WCS had enough bandwidth to run the webserver and the CS server on the same box, I don't know how much bandwidth you have, so you may want to host the files somewhere if you are that serious about it.
