Wroaw's Way Wicked Board

ok i traded a laptop with my dad and most of my source games dont work. They crash while loading the start up screen with the the instruction at ########## the reference ########## memory could not be read. that only happens with gmod and css. L4D just lags and everything but the player models is white. the only game that i can play is hl2 which runs fine. i have tried reinstalling the game a lot. I thought i solved this problem but i didnt any help would be nice.

my laptop specs that i know of:
Intel core2 duo processor
4 gigs ram
some 256 graphics card
winXP
BTW my memory is working fine i checked :)

Wipe the HD and reinstall Windows? Clean start ftw.

i just go css>properties>launch options and type -dxlevel 8.1 and it work thanks anyway.

now im off to play darkland rp on gmod for 23r2345235452525 hours (yes there is an r in there)

-game only runs slow as heck now

also anyone know of a free program that will update all of your drivers?

i would reformat the computer too. i want to reformat mine xD im just lazy.

that or trade ur laptop back. unless ur old one sucks a lot more lol

Sounds like you need to update your DirectX

And just check your drivers manually, doesn't take that much effort
