I need to upgrade my comp (found out that it can't really run WAR) :(

I've never upgraded just hardware in a desktop before, but I really don't see how hard it can be. The only think I'm not sure about is compatability issues. I did a little research and this is what I'm looking at getting....

Motherboard:

CPU:

RAM:

Not sure what video card I want, but this is the one I was looking at...

Like I said I've never upgraded just hardware... Would I be able to just swap all this stuff out and not have to worry about my HDD's? Or would the drivers already installed be an issue? Or do you guys think that since I'm already upgrading all this, I should just get a new PC? (but methinks that would be lots more $$)

INFO plz! :D

EDIT: I could care less about a soundcard, never saw the point in having a good one, I mean, sound can only be so good and I can't tell the difference. I'm not running a 15 speaker surround sound setup or anything. But thoughts on this as well plz :)
Those should all work together.

You're upgrading your motherboard. This means an update to your hard drive controller drivers. Because you're updating those drivers, you have to reinstall Windows. Some people have successfully been able to uninstall those drivers and reinstall them with the new hardware, but it's VERY difficult to do properly. So be prepared to reinstall Windows and everything too.

But like I said, the hardware all looks good. You're using the slower FSB with that processor, but you probably won't notice a huge difference either way.
getting all of that, another case and PS are only like 100 more so just build a new pc. 200 more than what you are already spending.

That video card might be better for you. I've never really heard of Chaintech. The reviews on the card seem good though.

For sound, onboard should be enough for decent sound. Unless you need to satisfy your e-peen or whatnot, you can stick with onboard sound and be satisfied. Just make sure your speakers are up to snuff.

And Womb has a good idea there...since you're upgrading, your current case might not be able to hold all of the new stuff, especially the video card. There are tons of cheap alternatives that are good, just look around newegg for a bit. Same for power supplies. Just read the reviews to get an idea of reliability and performance.
If you get a new processor then generally you have to reinstall Windows because it selects what components to install based on what CPU you're using at the time of setup

Same is true if you're buying a new mainboard as well.
