I would suggest reCAPTCHA or ESP-PIX.

reCAPTCHA uses old words from digitized books to authenticate a human, not a bot.

ESP-PIX is pretty neat. A user looks at an image and has to identify what object is common in the picture.

Just thought I'd suggest something of use instead of:

The advanced captcha was disabled because of the host transfer, an invalid path to the font was given. It's re-enabled now but I agree it still isn't really a good solution. (Our forum software is 5 years old now lol)

i like the idea of identifying a common object because frankly us colorblind people cant see half the regular words and letters!
