Ok guys im going to be building a new PC soon (Might head to the bank today to get out a personal loan to build some credit) and so far this is what i think ima go with. But no laughing, im no expert and i havent run it past coca yet:D

third on that list. Tell me what you think, im not sure if ill go 8800 instead of 8600 as hobbit suggests yet or not.

that is darn close to exactly what i got, except i got the windsor 5600:(, two gigs of OCZ, not nearly as good vidi - 7600

but that looks like a darn good computer, i think i got a little better mobo i went with the ASUS M2N-E SLI board. Keep in mind i got mine for $616, just to give you a price range

EDIT i did get a $50 dollar case so you are getting a lot better case, and i love that case i actually looked at it when i was deciding which case to get

still not too sure if im gonna 8800 or 8600, i can always double up on both.

Should be a damn nice pc when it's built!

I would go with Core 2 Duo but that's just me.

What size monitor are you using? If the resolution isn't that large then the 8600 will be good.

i have a 20 some inch crt, its max res is like 2600 or something

i currently surf the web on a toaster running ubuntu

Since you buying a new computer you might want to invest into a new computer desk because yours is about to crack I think.
