only on my telephone:Dwell, I like it a lot, but I don't think i'd call dance my fav (a lot of my friends'd kill me for that lol)

put in jazz/ fusion here, without a second thought, dunno why tho, especially cuz I kinda hate saying the one genre is better than the other :/

prog rock, awesome! listened to a lot of yes' can't deny "close to the edge" is a masterpiece, "starship trooper" is godlike and the whole of "90125" is just plain brillant. the only thing is that I kinda stopped looking in to prog rock after yes :/ got some suggestions beagle?

btw, why is my compatibility rating with all of you "very low"?:P
I'm glad to see that someone else likes ProgRock and Jazz!!!!
Do you listen to Dream Theater or are you an older prog rock fan?

Im not exactly sure what prog rock is. Artist examples?

and my music compatibility with like everyone is low, coca :>
ahh, I could go on and on and on about Prog Rock, but i'll condense it.

Progressive Rock was made most likely around the 1960's. It tends to be very unpopular among the mainstream crowd, because it lacks the catchy 4/4 timing and giddy lyrics. But progressive rock is mostly enjoyed by musicians because of the sheer dynamics used in each song, as opposed to an intro, chorus, bridge, chorus, outro structure of most mainstream music. Odd time signatures are also often used.

My favorite band of all time is Dream Theater, who is a ProgRock/Metal band that's been around since 85. THey are very melodic and their music is very structured. John Myung is virtually a god to me because i reeaaaally want to play bass like him...

But since i'm relatively new to prog rock, (my bass instructor told me about some bands about half a year ago) i can only suggest a few bands. But there aren't many, mostly due to what i believe to be the yearning to be famous with crappy music than be respected with good music.

Bands to listen to for Prog Rock: Yes, Rush, Dream Theater. I'll try to find more!
I have yet to vote.... i refuse to
I've liked the few Rush songs I've heard. Never heard of any of the others you mentioned.

(or, if you're more into the "visual" aspect: max graham's remix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeyWIzz6Bro )

bet you know that one (although it's more pop than prog)

never really listened to dreamtheater, but I know i'm not really fond of portnoy's double-bass play:(
put on some live performance of theirs, it aint bad, but it's a bit too heavy for me :/

got a few of rush' cds, I like it, but it never really got me
